East Bridgewater Police are trying to find a man who allegedly drove up to an 11-year-old girl walking home from her bus stop and asked her if she wanted a ride.

Chief Scott Allen says that around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday they received a call from a woman who said that she saw a man in a silver sedan approach her daughter and asked her twice if she wanted a ride.

The incident occurred on Thayer Ave. between W. Union St. and Patriot Circle and the man turned into a nearby driveway to turn around and then fled from the area toward Matfield St. after the mother began taking pictures of his vehicle.

The girl wasn’t harmed.

Police described the man as a black male in his 20′s or 30′s with a beard and a medium build.

He was wearing a red hat and driving what is believed to be a silver 2016-2018 Honda Civic four-door sedan.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is being asked to call East Bridgewater Police at 508-378-7223.
