Hanover/Norwell: Overnight Road Work On Route 3 North

Commuters driving on Route 3 North in Hanover and Norwell overnight tonight should expect to encounter construction during their drive.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says that crews will be conducting roadway construction operations overnight to shift traffic from the current, temporary Route 3 northbound crossover to the newly constructed permanent alignment of Route 3 northbound over High St. in Norwell.

As a result there will be intermittent lane closures on Route 3 North.

However, MassDOT officials say a minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.

Drivers are being encouraged to reduce speed and use caution while traveling throughout the area.

The work is scheduled to begin around 8 p.m. Friday and conclude around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say the work schedule is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
