Weymouth: One Person Killed in Double Shooting

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey said a 26-year-old male was killed and a male in his late 20’s was taken to South Shore Hospital after a shooting at the Weymouth Commons Apartment Complex.

Morrissey says Weymouth Police responded to 81 Rockway Ave. around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“They arrived shortly after getting the call, they found two individuals shot at that location,” said Morrissey. “They were immediately transported to South Shore Hospital.”

The males were not identified while family was being notified. Morrissey said the shooting took place near the entrance of the home.

“The 26-year-old individual was pronounced dead at the hospital, the second individual is still actively being treated, the condition right now is unknown,” Morrissey said Tuesday night.

Suspects were not identified at that time. The area was locked down while police examined the scene. Residents entering and leaving were asked for identification.

“Weymouth Police, the Detectives from the District Attorney’s Office, and Mass. State Police Crime Scene Services are actively working the scene,” said Morrissey.
