Brockton: Drug Raid Nets Fentanyl, Guns and Multiple Arrests

 Ten people face federal charges after authorities raid a home in Brockton. A multi-agency law enforcement team led by the US Attorney’s office and the DEA entered an apartment on Addison Ave to break up a large-scale Fentanyl distribution ring.

 Mayor Bill Carpenter says raid and arrests all began as part of a federal investigation that began back in January. During the operation, authorities seized five guns and approximately two pounds of fentanyl. Seven of the ten men, who were in court Friday, were arraigned for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine. Those individuals are being federally detained and held without bail. One person 

 Carpenter says the city does benefit from its relationship with state and federal law enforcement agencies.

  Meanwhile the US Attorney’s office will be prosecuting the case. Conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine provides for a sentence of no greater than 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million.

Seven individuals were arrested today, two are currently in state custody, and one is at-large. The following 10 individuals were charged by criminal complaint with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine: 

1.      Djuna Goncalves, 32, of Brockton, currently in state custody

2.      Cody Goncalves, 26, of Brockton, currently in state custody

3.      Anthony Goncalves, 20, of Brockton, currently at-large

4.      Angelo Pina, 27, of Brockton

5.      Calvin Mendes, 40, of Brockton

6.      Carlos Antunes, 33, of Brockton

7.      Jermaine Gonsalves, 32, of Brockton

8.      Ozair Pereira, 30, of Brockton

9.      Joseph Greene, 21, of Taunton

10.  Brian Donahue, 38, of Truro
