- Description
- News ‘Diva’ Christine James has been a fixture at WATD since 1990. Along the way in her WATD newsroom journey, she has won numerous broadcast awards including this year’s Associated Press and Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for “Best Newscast.” She is especially proud of her 1999 Boston Air Award for “Best Newscaster.” Her anchor duties have included moderating political forums, reporting and following breaking news stories, including (while on vacation) reporting from Dublin on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Christine says the job is different every day, and it’s never boring. James is a Philadelphia area native, a Vassar graduate, and formerly worked for a large public radio affiliate in South Texas. Her voice may sound familiar because she also does voice-over work throughout New England. Christine and her husband (and two dogs!) live on the South Shore.
