Feastible Films: Unique Fundraising Event at Plimoth Plantation

logo3Plimoth Plantation has teamed up with Mirbeau Inn & Spa at the Pinehills and Setting the Space for a truly unique fundraising event named Feastible Films on Thursday, June 11th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  From the moment guests arrive, thanks to the generosity and vision of Setting the Space designers, the Hornblower Visitor Center will be transformed completely for the evening into a hotel lobby, that will be reminiscent of the lobby in The Grand Budapest Hotel. The award-winning Mirbeau Inn & Spa will bring a distinct flair to the event. This will be a truly immersive experience!

The Grand Budapest Hotel has been selected as the evening’s “feastible” film. The Oscar-winning film from legendary director Wes Anderson centers around a European resort presided over by its concierge Gustave H. Zero, a junior lobby boy who becomes Gustave’s friend and protégé. The film’s whimsy charm and artisan magic all serve as inspiration for this multi-sensory journey that 200 lucky ticket holders will be part of.

Feastible Films will kick off with a complimentary champagne reception in a specially-created “hotel” lobby, with hors d’oeuvres and live music to set the mood of the evening. An open bar will offer signature cocktails inspired by the films of Wes Anderson. As guests arrive to the reception they will be given their own “room keys” that unlock a limited number of gilded boxes hidden throughout the event that contain a variety of wonderful prizes, including a stay at Mirbeau Inn & Spa at the Pinehills!

Prior to the start of the film, each guest will receive a tray with a tasting menu of numbered boxes—thoughtfully curated to enhance the viewers’ film experience through aroma, texture and flavor. Guests will be prompted during the film to open boxes on trays and to “savor” particular scenes. The menu for the mystery trays will be designed and prepared in collaboration with Mirbeau’s Chef Stephen Coe and Plimoth Plantation’s Chef Kenny Randall. The chefs’ culinary craft and their expertise in the fine art of taste will undoubtedly keep pace with film’s clever plot twists.
