This political season, the show is giving candidates the opportunity to answer questions posed to them by the award winning South Shore’s News Station. Tonight WATD continues its series of political forums, with the two candidates for the Sixth Plymouth District seat.
Incumbent Republican Dan Webster of Hanson will be in studio along with challenger Democrat Josh Culter, of Duxbury.
Webster has represented the Sixth Plymouth district since 2002. The Sixth Plymouth district includes precincts 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Duxbury, Precinct 2 in Halifax and all of Hanson and Pembroke.
The forum, moderated by Christine James, will be broadcast from the WATD studio tonight beginning at 6:15 p.m.
The two candidates, a democratic incumbent, and a republican challenger [singlepic id=19 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=left]vying for the Plymouth Barnstable Senate seat clashed on Wednesday night in a WATD Political Forum at Plymouth Town Hall.
The forum co-sponsored by the Plymouth Area League of Women Voters started at 7pm and featured Democratic Senate President Therese Murray, and Republican challenger Tom Keyes. Read the rest of this entry »

|Marshfield - In August when the gubernatorial race started to heat up, Democratic Governor Deval Patrick on WATD called for one issue-driven debate per week, from Labor Day until Election Day; WATD started making the calls, and invited all the candidates.
Democratic Governor Deval Patrick and Republican Charlie Baker, who were contacted numerous times, each ignored the request or never got back to WATD-FM.
Green-Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein was the only one to accept the invite, and came to WATD’s studios on Wednesday night. Stein is a physician and a 1979 graduate of Harvard Medical School.
“I come here, to the political world, not as a politician but as a medical doctor, having worked for 25 years trying to get people the care they need in a broken system that just keeps getting closer to collapse.” said Stein. “That’s how I really learned personally that politicians just aren’t listening to us and that we never get the health care we need, not to mention the strong schools that we need or to get good jobs back, unless we really fundamentally take our government back and make it work for us.” Read the rest of this entry »
