Michael McNamara, CFP is a partner at McNamara Financial Services Inc. He works with his son Justin McNamara, daughter Alyssa McNamara Reed, son-in-law Kirk Reed, and three additional full-time employees. McNamara Financial Services has offices in Marshfield and Westford, Massachusetts and manages approximately $230,000,000 in assets. The firm practices comprehensive financial planning and strategic asset allocation for approximately 500 clients.
Michael has been in the securities industry since 1980. His work history includes Prudential Bache Securities, First Winthrop Corporation, and Commonwealth Financial Network. McNamara Financial Services became a Registered Investment Advisor on October 1, 2010.
After graduating from Tufts University with a B.S. in Biology, Michael received both a Master’s and Doctorate in Education from Boston College. Michael’s last career education position was as middle school principal.
Michael has hosted a Saturday morning talk show on WATD in Marshfield since 1990 “McNamara on Money”. He is a member of the industry advisory committee to the Financial Services Institute (FSI). He has recently been asked to serve on an advisory committee to Tom Bradley on RIA issues.
Captain McNamara has a 100 ton master’s sea captains license and is a serious recreational fisherman. He works three days per week and takes 6-8 weeks of vacation per year. He fishes in the northeast on Mondays and Fridays from April through October on 35 foot Eastern for tuna, shark, cod, haddock, bass, and bluefish. He has a vacation home in Fort Myers, Florida and pursues snook and redfish on Pine Island Sound from his 21 foot Hewes Redfisher whenever he can from November through March.
