Check out the “Once in a Blue Moon Hike” this evening from 6:30 to 8:00pm. A Blue Moon comes along…well, 7 out of every 19 years. Still, it’s not like it’s every day. Join Amy Quist for a hike through the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary at the sun goes down and the Blue Moon rises over Marshfield! The event is $10; $7 for Mass Audubon members. Sunday September 2nd, 2012:
Check out the 2012 Plymouth Airshow today from 9:30am to 4:00. Visit www.seeplymouth.com/events/2012-plymouth-airshow for more information. There will be two air shows, one in the late morning and one in the afternoon. The featured performer will be Dan
Marcotte and his Ultimate 10-200 biplane. Activities will include helicopter and plane rides, a large
aircraft static display, a helicopter golf ball drop, kids’ games, flight simulators, exhibitors, food and a raffle. Attendees are asked to bring a food donation for the local food pantry and receive a free raffle ticket. Admission is free but a $5.00 parking donation is requested to benefit  local charities.  Plymouth Airport is located at 246 South Meadow Road in Plymouth. The rain date is Monday September 3rd.

South Shore Conservatory hosts a free Family Arts Festival on Saturday, September 8th from 10am to 12noon. Open to the public, this event welcomes area families to spend time together exploring music, theater and dance at South Shore Conservatory, One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. The festival kicks off with a free interactive family concert followed by an open house introducing the Conservatory’s many early childhood SSCreativeseeds programs. Children ages 3 to 10 use their “Arts Passport” to travel through a variety of activities which include:  “Drum & Sing” Sing-along, dramatic theater games and an instrument petting zoo. Bring the whole family to the West Bridgewater Park Day Celebration. It’s a day packed with family fun including: hayrides, pony rides, kids entertainment, live music, a food court and craft fair and bazaar. Admission and parking are FREE. The South Shore Natural Science Center, an environmental education center and museum in Norwell, announces the 36th annual Corn Festival, September 22 – 23, 2012.  Popular with families across the region, the Corn Festival is an annual event celebrating the fall harvest, and the natural and cultural heritage of New England.  In honor of the Center’s 50th anniversary in 2012, this year the festival has been expanded to two days: Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23rd, from 10am to 4pm on both days. For more information, visit www.ssnsc.org
