Check out “Fall Family Fun” at Colony Place in Plymouth Saturday September 29th and Sunday September 30th. The event takes place from 1 to 3pm near the Panera Bread. There will be parachute games, caricatures, face painting, storytime, and an owl snake and turtle presentation from the South Shore Natural Science Center from 2 to 2:30pm. Look for the Fall Community Brochure. Sign up options – On-line, Mail In, or Walk In. The Recreation Department will offer programs for pre school, youth, teen and adults. Programs may include: Pre school enrichment classes, soccer, volleyball, badminton, basketball, archey and so much more!  Programs for all ages and interests!

Friday September 28th, 2012:

Saturday September 29th, 2012:
Today’s The 24th annual “Bridgewater Autumn Fest”. This year’s event will be held today from 10am to 4pm on the campus of Bridgewater State University in front of Boyden Hall on the quad. AutumnFest is a longstanding tradition in Bridgewater and is organized and presented exclusively by the Bridgewater Business Association (BBA) with the help of the Bridgewater business community. Come enjoy the day with your family, kids  and neighbors of the  South Shore community. 

Check out the “Harvest Moon Hayride” this evening from 5:45-7:15pm. Round up the family for an evening in the hay and enjoy a naturalist guided hayride through the sanctuary. Under the light of the full harvest moon, search for wildlife and listen to stories of the season. Rediscover some old-fashioned fun with your family. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring along a blanket if you like. $9, $6 for Mass Audubon members. Sunday September 30th, 2012:
The Plymouth County Beekeepers will be holding a honey extraction today from 10am to 2pm.  The public is invited to watch and taste the local honey and speak with the beekeepers. The event will be held at the Mass Agricultural  Building at 266 High Street in Hanson. For more information call John Phillips at 781-293-2297. 

Bring the whole family to this annual ‘Touch-A-Truck’ event today from 12noon to 3pm at the Chapman Middle School at 1051 Commercial Street in Weymouth. This is a great family event that children will love!  Kids can climb on their favorite cars and trucks, police cars, fire trucks, school bus, race cars, and more. In addition to the trucks, characters will entertain the kids along with face painting, tatoos, and more. Admission is $5/person, $15/family. Proceeds to benefit the Friends of Foster Care, to enhance the lives of children in foster care and support their foster families living on the south shore.

Come celebrate archaeology month and experience the science of archaeology from prehistoric times to the nineteenth century. It’s the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary’s greatest day! Mass Audubon’s 32nd Annual Farm Day on Saturday October 20th from 10am to 4pm. There will be hay rides and pony rides all day. There’ll be a huge arts and crafts show, enjoy great soups from local restaurants and plenty of homemade baked goods. And there’s so much more! Children’s games and crafts, face painting, live farm animals, a giant hay maze, lots more good food by Family Crest Catering and fun for the whole family. $7, $5 for Mass Audubon members (children 3 and under free).
