The Marshfield Recreation Department: Winter/Spring Program registration will start Saturday, January 11th from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the recreation center, 900 Ferry Street. On line registration will start on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Programs for PreSchool, Sports Activities, Youth and Adults!

“What Does The Fox Say?” You can learn the answer at The South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell today! The popular song has taken YouTube nation by storm but the silly song does pose a question about the mysterious and elusive fox – what are their sounds trying to communicate? This program geared toward kids 6 and older will teach you about chirps, screeches, growls and what they mean! From Jane Goodall’s Chimpanzees to beautiful songbirds, we’ll learn how animals communicate and answer the question what does the fox say? This program costs $10 for members and $13 for non-members. Join Mass Audubon for a Snowy Owl Prowl on Duxbury Beach today! The snowy owl is North America’s largest owl. Migrating south from their breeding grounds in the Arctic Tundra, these magnificent birds will winter over on the Massachusetts coast. Join Sally and David as they share about Mass Audubon’s ongoing research with snowy owls and seek out this seasonal beach visitor. Take in the sights of the season, including snow buntings and wintering waterfowl. We will meet at Duxbury Beach on the ocean side of the Powder Point Bridge, and hop into vans to explore together! SOULE HOMESTEAD OFFERS FEBRUARY “FARM FUN” VACATION PROGRAM

Parents of children between the ages of 5 to 10 years are encouraged to sign up as early as possible for the popular farm-based educational February Vacation Program to be held at the education center located at 46 Soule Street in Middleboro, MA 02346.  This year’s theme is “Farm Fun” and the program is expected to fill up quickly.  Each day offers a different theme: OUR FEATHERED FRIENDS (Tuesday 2/18), ANIMALS IN WINTER (Wednesday 2/19), LETTERBOXING (Thursday 2/20), and MYSTERIOUS FOSSILS (Friday 2/21).  The price per day is $13 for members, $15 for non-members; the price per 4-day week is $50 for members, $58 for non-members.  Pre-registration and payment is required by February 14th by contacting Laurie Amberman, 508-947-6744 or email educator@soulehomestead.org
