The Paragon Carousel Summer Hours start on June 12 and run Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Hours on Friday, June 9 are 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Saturday June 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

The 2017 Randolph Country Fair and Spring Carnival runs this weekend at the Zapustas Ice Arena Parking Lot Friday from 5-10 and Saturday and Sunday from 1-10.

It’s Abington’s town-wide Flag Day and Founders’ Day celebration this weekend and the events kick off with an evening cook out with a DJ, bubble machine, free food and raffles along with a book signing with John Galluzzo and his new book Abington Through Time at the United Church of Christ in Abington on Rt. 18 from 5-8pm tonight. Tomorrow is Abington’s 305th anniversary and Saturday’s activities include a 5k fun run and a kids fishing derby. Joe’s Craz-zy Critters show takes place from 1:30-3:30 at Island Grove and Pizza Pandemonium at the Polish Club from 5-7. There will be evening events at Island Grove as well including luminaria lighting at 7:30 at the Memorial Bridge. Sunday stars with a pancake breakfast at the American Legion sponsored by the Abington Lions and there will be a firefighter memorial service at 10am at the Island Grove. At noon at the Police Station on Central Street there will be a touch a truck / see a car and an open house at the Abington Police Station. Saturday, June 10, 2017:

Hingham Harbormaster presents the annual Touch a Boat in Hingham Harbor today from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Come and kick off another great summer on Hingham Harbor with this free event for the family. Step aboard a Harbormaster patrol boat, explore a working lobster boat, and cruise picturesque Hingham Harbor. This 6th annual event will include everything from professional sand sculptures to seaside-themed exhibits to boating safety education. Music, food, crafts and games for all ages!

Today is Quincy’s Flag Day Parade and Celebration. The parade steps off at 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Coddington and Hancock Streets and heads north on Hancock to Merrymount Parkway and Pageant Field where an impressive flag raising and the celebration culminates with 30 minutes of fireworks over Black’s Creek! May the force be with you today at Star Wars Day at Franklin Park Zoo! From 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. today characters from the movie will roam the zoo and you’re encouraged to wear your own costumes and get your pictures taken with the characters. There will be scavenger hunts and other activities. Characters will be on site from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. This event is included with general zoo admission.

The first annual Rockland Day is being held today from 1:00 -4:00 at Veterans Memorial Stadium and the day includes kindness rock painting project, electric train rides, face painting, balloon twisting, pony rides, kids crafts and activities, live music and more! Details can be found HERE.

It’s Paw Patrol night tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Brockton Rox game, the gates open at 6:00 p.m.

It’s time to read to Boo today at the Hingham Public Library 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Boo is a Shih Tzu, Dash is Great Dane and Luke is a Labradoodle and they are all wonderful, patient listeners who take turns being read to. Today is Boo’s day for a reading session – reading sessions are 15 minutes and suitable for children ages 4 and up. The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.! Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
