Don’t forget, Dennis-Yarmouth High School is the place to be on the Cape this weekend for the second annual AGWAY of Cape Cod Paw Palooza!

The Scituate Knights of Columbus are hosting their annual summer carnival through Saturday night on Cole Parkway. The carnival will open at 7:00 p.m. and will feature rides, games and food!

Family Fun Days on Duxbury Beach are back! From 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. today, it’s Mollusk Mania. Primitive in the eyes of some but, we know better. Take the razor clam’s ability to create its own quicksand in order to escape predation as an example of the complex skills of our calcium clad friends. We will share the many specialized capacities of mollusks. The Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton will host a night hike from 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. for kids 8 and older and adults. Night can transform the ordinary into something magical. Explore the nighttime woods at the base of Great Blue Hill and discover the changes created in the gathering dark. You’ll do experiments to test your senses, look and listen for animals, and (weather permitting) gaze at the stars. The evening begins with a brief orientation in the museum’s auditorium, followed by a walk on some of the easier paths near the museum. The preserve the magic of the night, the Blue Hills Trailside Museum asks that only adults carry flashlights. Wear your sturdy walking shoes and don’t forget the bug spray! The raindate for this event is Saturday, July 22. Registration is required and you can do so by calling 617.333.0690 or online. The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.! Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
