Friday, November 24, 2017:

For something different head into the city for Boston Winter, returning to City Hall Plaza for the second year today and running through mid January.  It’s a dazzling open-air holiday festival open 7 days a week. You can rent ice skates and check out the newly designed skate path. You can meet Santa and shop in the Bavarian Village.  http://cityhallplazaboston.com/ Oh and the Boston Common Frog Pond is open for skating, too!


The South Shore Community Center hosts their annual Jingle Bell Walk at 2:00 p.m. in Cohasset – that’s when all the fun kicks off, when Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a local family, arrive by boat to Cohasset Harbor. Santa will pass out jingle bells and everyone will follow Santa as he rides to the SSCC by hayride. There will be bowling, crafts, photos with Santa and hayrides around Cohasset Common. http://www.southshorecommunitycenter.com/page-387635


The Quincy Center tree lighting festivities on the Thomas Crane Library lawn begin at 5:00 p.m. There will be snacks, food trucks, hot cocoa, letter writing to Santa, a gingerbread competition, costumed characters and a puppet show for kids of all ages.  The tree lighting is promptly at 6:15 p.m.


The Brockton City Christmas Tree Lighting takes place tonight at City Hall Plaza from 6 – 7:00 p.m. There will be a reading of the James Edgar Story in addition to the tree lighting.


Saturday, November 25, 2017:

Santa arrives by parachute in Quincy at Pageant Field today at 12:30 p.m. Come meet Santa and his elves and take a holiday wagon ride with costume characters.


The Rockland Holiday Stroll is this evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. from the Rockland Library to the Magoun-Biggins Home on Union Street. At 4:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Clause will arrive at Magoun-Biggins for the parade.


The 31st annual Brockton Holiday Parade takes place today at 1:00 p.m. with fun and activities starting early at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. The parade theme is “Celebrating the Holidays of our Ancestors” and will celebrate more than 125 years since James Edgar donned that first department store Santa suit. http://www.usachristmastown.org/brockton-holiday-parade/


The 2017 Easton Festival of Trees kicks off today and runs until December 10th at the Easton Country Club. It’s a popular fundraiser that invites thousands of residents from various towns to revel in the holiday season through a magnificent display of beautifully decorated trees.  Eastonfestivaloftrees.org


Sunday, November 26, 2017:

65th annual Quincy Christmas Parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. from the intersection of Hancock Street and the Walter J. Hannon Parkway, continuing up Hancock Street to North Quincy High School.


The Duxbury Rural and Historical Society invite you to the Nathanial Winsor, Jr. House to celebrate Duxbury Holly Days! Children’s activities and crafts will be provided along with a petting pen from noon until 4:00 p.m. at the house.  In the village there will be trolley rides, photos with Santa, hayrides, a puppet show along with holiday cheer and refreshments along with the tree lighting at 4:30 on the Town Green. http://duxburyhistory.org/events/holly-days-at-nathaniel-winsor-jr-house/

The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.!
