Elf Jr. the Musical is being performed at Laura’s Center for the Arts this weekend at the South Shore YMCA. The Paragon Carousel in Hull hosts their Holiday Showcase Saturday and Sunday from noon until 3:00 p.m. You can have your photo taken with Santa, decorate holiday cookies and make some crafts too. The Wurlitzer Organ will be playing holiday music as you ride the carousel. http://www.paragoncarousel.com/

 

Friday, November 30:

Hanover Four Corners Winter Festival takes place tonight along Broadway in historic Four Corners in Hanover from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. There is so much to take in, from marshmallow roasting over the fire pit with the Boy and Girl Scouts to the Frozen Parade with Elsa and Anna at 6 to the Grinch movie playing at 6:30, food trucks including Mom on the Go, Wahlburgers and Sadie Mae’s Cupcake Truck to great entertainment from the Hanover High School strolling VOX chorus carolers and Brass Quintet to the Irish step dancers and dances of the Nutcracker too. There will be crafts and treats for the kids, vendors to shop for the adults and Santa pictures at Abby Knoll Photography in the old Broadway Firehouse. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the firefighters Toys for Tots drive, too. All the details, and updates all week, can be found on their Facebook page.

 

Saturday, December 1:

The Marshfield Police, Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis invite you to greet Santa as he arrives by boat to the Green Harbor town pier today at 11:00 a.m. sharp. There will be hot chocolate, cookies, hot dogs and chowder available too. The Marshfield Police invite you to help stuff a truck with new and unwrapped toys.

 

The Plympton Firefighter’s Association invites you to breakfast with Santa today from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the fire department at 3 Palmer Road. Join Santa and his helpers and enjoy pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, milk and juice for a $6 donation. Kids under 5 are free! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be attending from 10 – 11:00 a.m.

 

It’s time for Christmas in Columbian Square today from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Explore the wonderful businesses in the Columbian Square neighborhood of Weymouth while you enjoy kids activities, snacks and treats, entertainment and photos with Santa too. Santa will be at South Shore Bank. The Christmas tree lighting at 6:00 p.m. is dedicated to Weymouth’s Vera Adams, Sgt. Michael Chesna and the entire Weymouth Police Department.

 

North Community Church on Old Main Street in Marshfield is hosting their holiday fair today from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. There will be a children’s craft area along with homemade baked goods and cookies for sale as you shop community league crafts. There is also a delicious bistro luncheon available too.

 

Sunday, December 2:

The 26th annual Christmas on the Common in Bridgewater takes places today from noon to 4:00 p.m. Seasonal music, festive activities for the whole family and lots of vendors partake in this Christmas Bazaar.

 

Pembroke Christmas Tree Lighting takes place at 3 today and you’ll have a chance to decorate cookies and ornaments, take a hay ride, enjoy face painting, bounce houses and games and roast marshmallows too. At 5 Santa arrives by fire truck to light the tree and meet with the kiddos. Following the lighting the Pembroke High School Choir and Band will perform holiday music.

 

The Scituate Animal Shelter is hosting a holiday open house today from noon until 2:00 p.m. at 780 Chief Justice Cushing Highway (Rt. 3A). There will be holiday fun, delicious treats, and photos with Santa! The photos are a $10 donation to help the shelter animals.

Been to the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton? Children under 12 are admitted for free and everyone is admitted for free Thursdays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Admission is free for Brockton residents! www.fullercraft.org 

 

The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.! Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
