Saturday Dec 15 and 22, and Sun Dec 16 you can enjoy breakfast with Santa and Friends at Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet, share your wish list with Santa and meet some of the Zoo’s favorite resident animals. Be sure to bring your camera! Free train and carousel rides, weather permitting, are included. Enjoy face painting and crafts, too. Space is limited, reserve your spot today. Have you checked out ZooLights at the Stone Zoo? It runs every day this month, except for Christmas Day, from 5 – 9:00 p.m. with an extra hour until 10:00 p.m. December 14, 15, 21 and 22! Stroll through the tree-lined paths lit by thousands of twinkling lights. Different exhibits are lit and there are special days and guests like on Sunday from 5-9 when the Trolls visit for fun and prizes. All December and January go on a reindeer quest at Weir River Farm in Hingham! Grab your boots (or skis or snow shoes when we need ‘em) and seek out the elusive herd of wooden reindeer sculptures found throughout the farm’s trails. See how many you can find and leave a bell around each one’s neck! Start the quest in the lot by the green house at 140 Turkey Hill Lane, the bells will hang on the bulletin board. Something to check out in Boston is taking place at Faneuil Hall, it’s called Blink! It’s a light and sound show running until January 1st. Blink features the signature holiday tree at Marketplace Center joined by other trees and lights throughout the property featuring six holiday favorites. Performances run from 4:30 – 10:00 p.m. daily. Its kids’ weekend this weekend where there will be a host of activities for kids of all ages including the Candyland tournament! Santa will be there Saturday from 10-noon with the Candyland tournament.

 

Friday, December 14:

The North Scituate Merchants Christmas in the Village is tonight from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. It’s a free event for families and includes an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, crafts, carolers, cookie decorating and more, including pictures with Santa!

 

Saturday, December 15:

The 4th annual Polish Club of Abington’s pancake breakfast with Santa is today from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Admission is free but a donation to the food pantry is encouraged (non-perishable food item or hats/gloves). Home for the Hullidays Festival of Lights is today from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Hull at the Paragon Carousel. The festivities include seasonal music, hot cocoa, cookies and hot soup along with a visit from Santa and rides on the Winter Wonderland Paragon Carousel. Sunday, December 16:

Head to the Monponsett Inn Restaurant in Halifax today from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for brunch with Santa! Santa in the house from 10:30 – 1:30 p.m. and groups are encouraged to make reservations. Cost is $16.95 for adults and $11.95 for kids.

 

You can have brunch with Santa at The Tinker’s Son in Norwell today from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Call 781.561.7361 for reservations.

 

Mom on the Go Food Truck and Restaurant in the Hanover Mall invites you to Christmas Classics and Cookies with Mom on Sunday from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Mom’s showing 3 great Christmas classics and kids of all ages are invited to enjoy free homemade cookies and milk. Everyone can write a letter to Santa and drop it in the North Pole Mailbox. Santa will show up too! Next to Old Navy will be converted into comfy seating to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 3, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at 3:30 and Santa Claus is coming to town at 4! *Limited number of nut free cookies available as well! Upcoming!

New Hope Chapel Norwell presents a live nativity Christmas on the Commons on Norwell Commons from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23. There will be free hay rides every 30 minutes along with the Salvation Army Band. There will be a live petting zoo, along with libations to enjoy such as warm cider, hot chocolate and food including cornbread and chili.

The Children’s Museum in Boston costs $1 to enter Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.! Current exhibits include Explore-a-Saurus where you can assume the role of scientist and explore the evidence, the science and the features that make dinosaurs so compelling. You can touch and measure a fossil footprint and learn what clues it gives about a dinosaur’s size. You can manipulate a full-size model and learn how they moved and rearrange bone puzzles to learn about dinosaur anatomy.
