Jim grew up in the Lower Mills section of Dorchester and became a fledgling weather nut after viewing hurricanes Carol, Edna and Dianne (as a wee-lad) in the mid-1950′s.
Following an all-expenses paid stay in Vietnam, Jim received a BS degree in Atmospheric Science & Chemistry from UMass and has worked as a scientist in R&D ever since. He also graduated from MSU (Meteorology) and has been a radio meteorologist for 18 years and also has filled on TV (WJAR-TV channel 10 in Providence) for the past 5 years.
He and his wife (Kerry) live on the South Shore. They have two married daughters.
