Marshfield: Police investigate after explosions from homemade devices

It was quite a scare for residents in the Highland St. area of Marshfield over the weekend.

Two explosions were heard around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, prompting a flood of 911 calls.

Police captain Phil Tavares tells WATD evidence suggests the blasts were heard about 50 yards apart, and were likely caused by homemade explosive devices.

No one was injured.

Marshfield police and the state police bomb squad are investigating, and evidence is being examined at the state police crime lab.

Tavares says a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information on the case.

Tipsters can call toll-free (800) 682-9229.
