Plymouth: Bristol County DA announces he will run for congress

Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter, a Democrat, has announced he will challenge current democratic congressman William Keating in the primary race for the newly designed ninth congressional district. The newly formed district spans Cape Cod, much of the south shore and a portion of the south coast.

DA Sam Sutter made the announcement this afternoon at a stop in Plymouth, standing on the steps of the Plymouth Town Hall,  in front of a backdrop of roughly 50 supporters.

Sutter made the announcement, as part of a bus tour with his supporters, that started earlier in the day on Cape Cod, and ends in New Bedford.

Sutter will challenge fellow democrat and current 10th district Congressman William Keating in the congressional primary – while on the republican side Chris Sheldon has announced he will run.
