Kingston: 59-yr-old man struck and killed by commuter rail train

The MBTA Transit Police confirms a 59-year-old white male was fatally injured after he walked on to the Summer Street railroad tracks just before 10a.m. Wednesday as a commuter rail train was heading southbound.

In a MBTA release, it states the man was “trespassing on the right of way”.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train was parked on the tracks as Kingston and Transit Police detectives investigated what led to the incident.

Eleven passengers were stuck on the train for about two hours before they were shuttled by a local taxi service.

Train service in Kingston was delayed due to the fatal accident.
