Brockton: Fire and Police Kept Busy with Overnight/Early Morning Incidents

Brockton firefighters had a busy Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

The night began at 10:30 p.m. with a report of a vehicle into a house at 309 Forest Ave. Crews found the driver, a 51 year old male, who had hit the dwelling with his car and suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. Then at 2 a.m., a box was struck for a fire at 1208 Montello Street that went to a second alarm. According to Deputy Fire Chief Mark Baker, firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to an attached garage. Residents who lived in the eight apartment units were able to get out safely and are being assisted by Red Cross.

The final incident, which occurred at 4:45am, saw two engine companies dispatched to the Route 123 off ramp from Route 24 south for a fully involved truck fire. That blaze was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
