A big crowd is expected to turn out Saturday, July 16 to be part of a statewide climate march. The local leg starts at the site of the proposed Spectra Energy natural gas compressor in Weymouth.

350 Mass Organizer Connie Gorfinkle says people should get there at 6 Bridge Street in Weymouth at 9:30 AM.

“It’s to alert people to the dangers of global warming and to keep them up to date on all the things that are going on. We legislate. We Rally,” said Gorfinkle.

The rally is sponsored by Fire River Residents Against the Compressor Station, or “Frracs.”

Several local officials are expected to join in, including Weymouth State Senator Patrick O’Connor.

The March, which covers a proposed pipeline route, is expected to culminate at the statehouse on Monday.
