Goldie’s Hot List ~ The Pill Golf Training Aid

July 14, 2016 ~  In the game of golf sometimes it’s best to just keep it simple!

This week’s MUST HAVE is The Pill Golf Training Aid

“Rolling the pill”is an expression used in golf when a player is putting well.  With The Pill, you’ll be “rolling the pill” in every sense as it helps you to organically improve your putting stroke

The Pill is a modified golf ball that, when placed on its side, only rolls true when struck with a square face.  The Pill is also a great tool for your short game as well

Inventor and Golf Teaching Professional Paul Nagi designed the first prototypes in his garage and now over 85 PGA Touring Pros carry The Pill in their bag.  Top names such as Jason Day, Brandt Snedeker, Sergio Garcia, Butch Harmon Golf Schools, Davis Love III and the list goes on …

One of Nagi’s pet peeves is when buying a gadget such as The Pill, the consumer is often left to fend for oneself  in regard to using it.  So Paul is readily available via YouTube with instructional videos featuring PGA Tour 2015 Rookie of the Year Chesson Hadley.  You could even go so far as to send him an email at or tag The Pill in a 60 sec. Instagram Video showing your putting problem while using The Pill and he will help to explain the results.   How kool is that?

The Pill can also be customized ~ great for corporate events, sports teams or business’

An avid golfer for most of his life, Paul played golf at New York University and while there, also ran their intramural golf program.  As Director of Instruction for the Randall Island Sports Foundation he trained inner city teens to become amateur instructors.  He found his way to Los Angeles via his position at the Tregnan Golf Academy – one of the nation’s top Junior Training facilities

Aside from The Pill, Paul’s also got a very special project close to his heart in Houston, Texas that he’s involved in called “The Sharpstown Project”

Paul explains his “retirement dream” of creating an inner city golf team for economically challenged students.  “So I had a retirement dream of going into an inner city school and starting a facility that Tour Pros would come to and help mentor the kids through the game of golf, but I decided to launch the project now instead of waiting until I retire”

Paul found a high school in Houston, Texas, Sharpstown High and with donors such as The First Tee Program of Texas, Callaway Golf and Trader Joes he managed to create a golf team rallied 14 students to participate as Ambassadors of the game of golf ~ first ever program of it’s kind there

Paul’s all hands on deck philosophy is the heart of the Sharpstown Project.  Paul told me, “Sometimes that means picking up kids and taking them to job interviews that you helped them get and a lot of it sounds like your really being a parent but you know what if that’s what people need and kids need to get outta the cycle of poverty, and lack of education and lack of good jobs and lack of opportunity, then we’ve gotta stand up and so something about it, right?”

Paul went on to say, “I think there’s a lot of hope for young people out there they just they need that support to know that they are doing it, that they are heading in the right direction, that’s what anybody needs, they just have to know that they are doing it right, you know and that is what the heart of this thing is Mentors and creating mentors.”
