Rockland: Charges Dropped Against Teen Accused Of Making Threats

Charges have been dropped against one of the boys accused of threatening to shoot up Rockland High School on February 16.

Police Chief John Llewellyn released a statement saying that an investigation determined that the other teen arrested, a 15-year-old male student, used the 14-year-old’s cell phone to make the threatening call and that the 14-year-old was unaware of what the other boy was doing.

A woman claiming to be the boy’s mother said her son gave the other student his cell phone after the first call to a Boston news station.

We are withholding the name of the boy’s mother to protect his identity since he is a juvenile.

The call took place in the school’s cafeteria and Rockland Public Schools briefly sheltered in place while officers located and arrested the two students.

WATD News reached out to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s  Office who said they “don’t comment on juvenile cases.”
