Scituate: Police Ask Motorists To Avoid Storm Impacted Areas

Scituate Police are asking motorists to avoid areas impacted by last week’s Nor’easter.

Lt. Detective Paul Norton says they have been receiving complaints from cleanup crews, utility workers, and residents about drivers who they say are impeding cleanup efforts and are creating a hazard for machine operators.

Crews with heavy machinery and trucks will be operating in Humarock, Sand Hills, Minot, and other affected areas.

Officials have installed barriers and signs urging motorists to avoid these areas unless you are a resident or a contractor assisting with the cleanup.

Lt. Norton asks anyone who must drive in those areas to use caution around equipment and understand that machine operators can’t always see you.
