Plymouth: Keating Supports Bill Regarding Nuclear Waste Sites

Pilgrim plymouth

The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill yesterday that would allow nuclear waste to be stored in designated sites.

Congressman Bill Keating tells WATD News that this bill not only helps to ensure that waste is removed from sites like the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, but also makes another provision for sites that, like Pilgrim are slated to close.

Keating also added an amendment to the bill that would require more transparency regarding how money collected from ratepayer fees is being used.

The Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act of 2018 now heads to
the Senate.
