Plympton: Selectman Discusses Fire Chief’s Ouster

Plympton officials are discussing the ouster of Acting Fire Chief Philip Curran, who was relieved of duty during an Executive Session at Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

Selectman Mark Russo tells WATD News that oversight of the department will be handled by the Town’s Fire Management Consultant, Chief Lance Benjamino, with Captain Cheryl Davis managing daily operations.

However, Russo says this isn’t a permanent arrangement.

Russo says they will be looking at several different operational models before they make a final decision.

Russo emphasizes that fire and ambulance services will continue to function at “full speed,” during this time.
