Rockland: Town Receives Grant to Upgrade Water Treatment Facility

Rockland is one step closer to a rezoning proposal that would help attract more business to the downtown area.

The town received a grant this week to upgrade the Meyers Water Treatment facility to increase its daily water use.

Selectwoman Deidre Hall says increasing the towns daily water use amount had to be changed to qualify for what’s called a 40R zoning proposal.

Hall hopes the 40R zoning will allow for more mixed use residential and retail spaces giving Rockland more dining establishments and small stores to help boost the town economically.
