A man was taken to a local hospital after being bitten by a snake in Braintree.

Deputy Police Chief Sean Lydon tells WATD News the victim was leaving a hotel on Thursday night when he was bitten by a copperhead snake.

Lydon says this is the second time a snake sighting occurred in town.

Lydon advises anyone in that area to remain vigilant and take the following steps if they do encounter a snake.

Wood Rd. borders the Blue Hills Reservation which is a known habitat for snakes.
