A man previously convicted for incidents in Weymouth is being sought after failing to register as a sex offender.

Massachusetts State Police say 79-year-old Richard Fleurant was convicted in 1977 for four counts of committing unnatural acts with a child under 16 in connection with multiple incidents that occurred in Weymouth.

Fleurant victimized teenage boys who frequented the apartment complex where he worked as building superintendent.

State Police say Fleurant was given a lengthy state prison sentence and is currently in violation of his Lifetime Sex Offender Registration requirements.

In addition, Fleurant has prior convictions for carrying a machine gun, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, lewd and lascivious behavior, unnatural acts, and disseminating obscene material to a minor.

He’s described as a white man, 5’9” tall, weighing roughly 185 lbs., with gray hair and brown eyes.

State Police say he may be homeless but has past ties to Boston, Weymouth, and Central Massachusetts.

Anyone with information regarding Fleurant’s whereabouts is being asked to call the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-527-8873 or to call 911.
