Hingham: House Break-In On Gardner Street

Hingham Police are investigating a daytime break-in.

Police say that at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday a Gardner St. resident came home from school and found that the back door had been kicked in.

They didn’t enter the home and instead went to a neighbor’s home where they called police and other family members.

Several officers, including a K9, arrived on scene and searched the home, verifying that the suspect(s) were gone.

It was determined that the home was accessed by entering the porch at the rear of the house then forcing open the door.

Police say several rooms were ransacked and items including electronic devices, jewelry and cash were taken.

The break took place between 10:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and a vehicle was used which appears to have been parked in the middle of the driveway.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is being asked to contact Detective Daniel Leary at 781-741-1443.
