Norwell: Two Car Crash Closes Down Rt. 123 for Hours


Wednesday morning at 9:10 a.m., Norwell Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 328 Main Street and Rte.123.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. The operators for each vehicle, and a passenger, were injured and transported to South Shore Hospital.

Norwell Fire EMS, along with mutual aid ambulances from Hingham and Rockland transported the injured. One person had minor injuries and two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.


National Grid responded to the crash to address the downed wires and utility pole.

Traffic was detoured for approximately four hours so that utility crews could work to clear and restore electricity.

The crash remains under investigation by Norwell Police.
