Pembroke: Town Recognizes Historic Signing of Document 246 Years Ago

The town of Pembroke took a bold step 246 years ago today by voting on and signing onto the Pembroke Resolves specifically suggesting independence from Britain. Steven Herman of the Pembroke Historical Commission told the South Shore’s Morning News on WATD that the home of John Turner, one of the authors of the resolves, will hopefully be getting some restoration.

State Rep. Josh Cutler says something like this really brings the early history of our nation to life.

John Turner was a veteran of the Revolutionary War.
