Hingham: Selectman Discusses Plans To Purchase Aquarion System

Officials in Hingham are moving forward with efforts to purchase the water system currently being run by Aquarion.


Paul Healey, Chair of the Board of Selectmen says they plan to use a law from 1879 to make the purchase.


Healey says Aquarion is also trying to use pricing to discourage efforts by the town.


He also discussed efforts by Aquarion to win public support.


The current system serves over 12,000 customers in Hingham, Hull, and part of Cohasset.
