Plympton: Crews Perform Ice Rescue On Ring Rd.

Crews in Plympton rescued a person who fell through the ice on Sunday.

Fire Captain John Sjostedt tells WATD News that the police and fire department responded to Ring Rd. over a report of a person through the ice.

Sjostedt says the victim attempted to rescue his dog in a cranberry bog and went through the ice.

Both the victim and his dog were safely removed.

Residents are being reminded to use extreme caution around ice and to call 911 if they have an ice emergency.

Sjostedt says Plympton Firefighters are equipped with Ice Rescue equipment to respond for people and animals through the ice.
