Randolph: Police Nab Vandal Suspect

A Randolph Police man is expected to be arraigned today after he allegedly shot out a bank window with a BB gun.

Police responded Friday at 9pm to a window break alarm at the Bank of Canton located at 67 North Main St. Upon arrival, police found that a window of the building had been broken. An investigation by officers lead them to a local restaurant parking lot where 39 year-old Chad Bornstein was located. Police found a BB gun and Bornstein was placed under arrest and detained. Bornstein has been charged with Malicious Damage to Property over $1,200.

Police were able to obtain a search warrant to search a Nelson Drive residence. Further investigation by Randolph Police detectives has lead to Bornstein being suspected in several additional vandalism and property damage incidents in town in recent months. Since January 9th, there have been more than 20 similar incidents of property damage in the North Main Street area.

Additional charges are likely to be added. This incident remains under investigation by Randolph Police detectives. In the mean time, Bornstein is being held on $1,000 bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned today at Quincy District Court.
