A Marshfield man is under arrest for allegedly breaking into a Marshfield and Duxbury home Monday.

Yesterday at about noon, a resident on Acorn Street in Duxbury came home to see their home had been burglarized and immediately called police.

An officer that was working a detail nearby arrived first on scene and remembered seeing a man walking in the area an hour prior.

The officer entered the home and found a note threatening the residents if they called the police.

A K-9 officer arrived shortly after and while they were investigating -a man matching the officer’s description emerged from the woods and began walking away from the scene.

Officers ran to detain the man, and the man started discarding various items that were confirmed to belong to the resident on Acorn Street as well as a resident on Ocean Ave in Marshfield.

32-year-old Clarke Phillips of Marshfield was arrested and taken to Duxbury Police headquarters for processing.

While there Phillips told police he had eaten a large amount of prescription medications stolen from the Duxbury home and was transported to the hospital.

After medical release, Phillips was transported to the Plymouth County House of Corrections.

He was arraigned earlier today in Plymouth District Court and is facing multiple charges including Daytime Breaking and Entering, possession of a class E substance, and intimidation of a victim.
