Randolph: Comfort Inn Evacuated After Threat

A Randolph hotel was evacuated after a threat was made by a guest.

Police Chief William Pace says that at around noon Friday officers were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, 1374 North Main St., for a report of a hotel guest that was refusing to leave his room after his stay had expired.

Pace says the man told a hotel employee about a “biological hazard” inside of his room and that he made threats to harm himself.

Officers located the man in a corridor near his hotel room and he was detained without incident.

The hotel was evacuated out of an abundance of caution and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called in.

No threats were found and the scene was cleared at approximately 2 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
