Whitman: Teacher Placed On Leave

Whitman Police are investigating after an elementary school teacher was placed on administrative leave.

Chief Scott Benton says that at around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday a School Resource Officer was notified about alleged inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student at Duval Elementary School.

The teacher was immediately placed on leave by school officials and an investigation was launched by Whitman Police.

At this time no charges have been filed and Benton says the investigation remains ongoing.

Since the incident involves a minor, further details aren’t being released at this time.
