Duxbury: Town Looks to Change Speed Limits in Town

Duxbury is planning a Special Town Meeting where residents will vote on reducing speed limits after a tragic hit and run earlier this month.

Duxbury resident Andrea Gordon died from injuries sustained in a hit and run on Washington Street on June 9th.

The board of selectmen met this week and announced they will hold a special town meeting that will include two articles.

Selectman Shawn Dahlen says speed limits could be lowered in many areas of town.

Dahlen says the next step to legally change posted speed limits is to have a Special Town Meeting.

The meeting date will be announced at the next Board of Selectmen’s meeting, which is on Tuesday, July 15th starting at 7 pm at town hall.
