Marshfield: Three Men Taken Into Custody After Traffic Stop

Three men were taken into custody following a traffic stop in Marshfield.

Police say that at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday an officer pulled over a pickup truck for having an expired inspection sticker on Plain St.

When he approached the officer found that both the driver and passenger were dressed in all black, they were also being evasive, appeared nervous and gave conflicting information.

Additional officers arrived on scene and saw a blanket in the rear bed of the pickup truck move.

Officers removed the blanket and found a third man, later identified as 41-year-old Michael Carpine, wearing all black with duct tape on his ankles over the bottom of his pants. He was also found to have suboxone, Lexapro and anti-depressant pills in his possession.

He was removed from the truck and, during that time officers observed a glass pipe containing crystal meth residue in his possession.

The passenger, identified as 41-year-old Adam Parsons, had an active arrest warrant for suspended license, uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle and possession of a class B and E drug.

It was also discovered that the driver, 35-year-old Jonathan Zakas, four (4) active warrants for his arrest for B&E misdemeanor, 2 counts of possession of a class B drug, unregistered motor vehicle and suspended license.

Officers also confirmed that his license was currently suspended and lock picking set, a glassine bag containing methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia was found in his possession.

During the course of an investigation officers located numerous power tool items and burglarious tools that were later determined to be stolen. It was also determined that the suspects had a plan to burglarize a jewelry business in Pembroke.

Zakas is being charged with 4 Warrants ,License Suspended, Refuse to identify self, No inspection sticker, Drug Possession Class B, License not in possession, Receiving stolen property +$1200, Possession of Burglarious instruments, and Conspiracy.

Parsons is being charged with 1 Warrant and Conspiracy.

Carpine is being charged with Drug Possession Class B, Class E and Conspiracy.
