Plymouth: Water System Improvement Project Begins Downtown

Some downtown roads in Plymouth will be more congested than usual beginning today up until Labor Day due to a water system improvement project.

Plymouth DPW officials say the work begins today and will be done on Court Street and Main street on the section between Samoset street and Water street and at the intersection of Market street and Summer street.

Contractors will be working Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm until Labor day due to the challenging nature of the project which will require testing before the final paving.

Town officials say the project aims to improve the redundancy of the municipal water system in the area and reduce future water interruptions to homes and businesses.

They also ask for patience as they hope to minimize traffic disruptions, but motorists should expect delays in the downtown Plymouth area.
