Live Broadcast from Bell Casting at Plimoth Plantation on Saturday, August 31st from Noon – 3 PM

WATD will broadcast live from the Plimoth Plantation Bell Casting Event.

Join Lisa Azizian on Saturday, August 31st, from noon to 3 PM at Plimoth Plantation’s Bell Casting Event. This once-in-a-lifetime event takes place Saturday and Sunday and features the casting of a magnificent new ship’s bell for the Mayflower II. Enjoy food, music, expert narration of the bell-casting, and fun activities for children! The bell casting event is free to the public on both days but does not include admission to Plimoth Plantation.

Join world-renowned bell makers The Verdin Company as they bring their mobile bell foundry to Plimoth Plantation for a weekend-long bell casting and festival that kicks off our series of homecoming events for MAYFLOWER!

Watch it all unfold live with expert narration by Verdin’s team, from the passing of bronze ingots and veterans’ medals to pouring, casting, and breaking out the bell. Dignitaries and honored guests will ring the bell for the first time before it is transported – very carefully – to Mystic, Connecticut for installation on MAYFLOWER prior to her official launch on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
