Pembroke: Plastic Bag Ban Goes Into Effect Sunday

A plastic bag ban in Pembroke goes into effect on Sunday.

Health Agent Lisa Cullity tells WATD News that compliance checks will be carried out but they won’t be draconian in nature.

In fact Cullity says one local business has already been granted an extension.

Cullity says most businesses have already switched over to paper bags with some retailers, such as Stop & Shop, posting a countdown in their windows for when the bag ban goes into effect.
