Plymouth: The County Notifies the Sheriff No Legal Papers Will Be Filed While Negotiations Between Them Occur

In Plymouth, before the deadline for the cease and desist order issued by the County Commissioners to the Sheriff regarding the County Farm expired last Friday at midnight, these developments occurred.

Sheriff Joseph McDonald says the County notified him last Friday, through counsel that…

“… the County has forgone filing any legal papers in any Court at least for the present time, and they have requested, and we have accepted and agreed, that it’s a good idea that we continue to talk and to negotiate and hopefully find a reasonable setting that we can settle this whole thing—and satisfy what the County’s needs are and protect what is a very, very precious public resource.”

WATD reached out to County Commissioner Greg Hanley and County Administrator Frank Basler for an update on this issue, but did not get a response.
