Weymouth: Public Involvement Plan Participants Request Meeting Postponment Regarding Fore River Oil Clean-up

A meeting regarding the oil clean-up at the proposed compressor station in Weymouth may be rescheduled after opponents of the project received a 1,000 plus page document recently released by TRC companies.

Enbridge- the company hoping to build the compressor station- hired TRC Companies to conduct soil testing at the Fore River Bridge, and when there any new documents or actions taking place regarding the clean-up of the site, then the PIP- or public involvement plan- participants must be notified.

That’s Margaret Bellafiore who is a representative for the PIP participants who says the original meeting to discuss site clean-up was the 25th, but with this data dump she has asked the Department of Environmental Protection to reschedule it to October 9th.

At this point, it’s unknown if the meeting has been approved for re-scheduling, but we are continuing to follow this story and will provide updates.
