Hanson: Public Meeting With MA DEP To Discuss Hanover Fireworks Site Cleanup

The town of Hanson will hold a meeting on October 16 at the middle school to give residents an update on the cleanup of the Hanover Fireworks Site. The Board of Selectmen are hosting representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, who will discuss the latest details at the public forum.

Hanson Selectman chairperson Laura FitzGerald-Kemmett is one of many officials who have been busy informing the public about this meeting, using social media (see below) to get the word out to residents and concerned citizens:

“The purpose of this session will be to provide Hanson residents with information about the Fireworks site clean-up efforts and what has been done to date, what is going to be done in the future and next steps. We have asked the Mass DEP folks to come to Hanson because they have a public comment period regarding the Fireworks site mitigation that ends on October 25th and we want the voices of Hanson residents to be heard. For more information about the site, please visit the Town of Hanover website:https://www.hanover-ma.gov/former-fireworks-site . If you cannot attend the session but would still like your voice to be heard, you can send your comments via email to: FireworksRAPComments@tetratech.com or via mail to: Fireworks RAP Comments c/o Tetra Tech, Inc. 160 Federal Street, 3rdFloor Boston, MA 02110.”

FitzGerald-Kemmett spoke with WATD’s Kevin Tocci about the importance of this meeting.
