Plymouth: The Pinehills Courts Empty Nesters to New Village Green Apartments

In Plymouth, the Pinehills is home to close to 5,000 people and that number will soon be expanded by a flock of empty nesters. The south side of the Village Green District will be the site of a rental apartment complex, approved by the Planning Board this week.

John Judge, Pinehills President, says the first level of the apartment complex will house retail space:

“The plan that we have put together includes about 6,300 square feet of ground floor retail and commercial fronting on the Village Green, 178 empty-nester targeted apartments with a very robust amenity package, and very unique to this marketplace, there are 245 underground parking spaces that serve those empty nester apartments above.”

The apartments will average around a 1,000 square feet…

“…there are one bedroom apartments and two bedroom apartments that combine. One and two bedrooms take up about 170 of the 178 apartments, and there’s a very small number, 8 or 9 three bedroom.”

Tony Green, Managing Partner of Pinehills says it was always intended that the Village Green District would be developed in this way:

“Well, the idea of trying to make the Village Green, first of all, be at the interchange edge of the community, and the way in which that would help the Village Green be a village, not just for the residents of Pinehills, but for all those around us.”

Shovels in the ground expected this spring.
