Hingham: Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

Hingham Police get drugs off the streets after a routine traffic stop.

At about 2:15 Sunday afternoon, Officer Scott Tracey was monitoring traffic on route 3A when he stopped a Nissan Altima for speeding.

The driver had an outstanding warrant and was placed under arrest during which nine small baggies of a brown powder believed to be heroin was found in his pocket.

Police also found 198 steroid tablets and over $2,600 of cash in the car.

33-year-old Luis Caba of Dorchester is charged with possession of heroin and steroids. The outstanding warrant was for driving on a suspended license.

Caba was released on $500 cash bail and was arraigned in Hingham District Court.
