Rockland: Two Students Arrested Following Fight At Middle School

Two students were arrested following a fight in Rockland.

Superintendent of Schools Alan Cron says the incident occurred at the John W. Rogers Middle School during early dismissal Thursday afternoon at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Cron says faculty and staff members and the School Resource Officer were already outside and attempted to intervene, in accordance with district protocols and procedures.

More officers were called to the scene and the two students, identified only as eighth-grade girls, were arrested.

Principal Beth Bohn was pushed by one of the students while trying to break up the fight but Cron says she was not injured.

There were no weapons involved in the incident.

Cron says the school district will conduct its own investigation and will “likely issue disciplinary measures consistent with its student handbook.”
